I need some advice if anyone's willing to help, There's some images on DA that are perfect for this piece I am working on, the images aren't specified as stock so I have tried to contact the image owners to seek permission. There has been no answer from any contact attempts at their profiles here or through any links they have listed on their pages. I've tried searching for alternates but have found literally nothing else suitable.
Does this mean, among other things, the piece cannot be published to DA/ my own site (I attach full credits wherever I publish) regardless of what I have done to seek permission.
Any info/advice would be greatly appreciated.

I agree with robhas1left also. I know it's frustrating and have been there, will be again and again too but without permission and it listed as stock it's a no go zone. 
From my experience, when they don't answer, either they aren't that active or ignoring you because they don't like your request.

I agree with Robhas1left. If an image has NOT been specified as stock, then consider it out of bounds. You cannot use it or publish it anywhere on the internet. And even if you do use images that have been credited as stock. make sure the stock artists are happy with you posting outside of DA too. My stock has no limitations, for example, but I know there are some stock artists that are very precious about their stock and don't want it being used outside of DA.
If it is not a stock image and the owner has not authorized its use you should not use it. Sure as you do, the owner will find out. I have been contacted on several occasions by people I don't even know that my images are being used by some persons. Sure as you use them, someone will see it, recognize it and contact the owners. You're just leaving yourself open to potential problems.
